New Center School Red Carpet Welcome

After a busy February break for staff, 4th and 5th grade students and their teachers moved into the new wing of The Center School on Monday and were treated, literally, to a "red carpet" welcome by the SPTO. Students met outside the entrance and Mrs. Kyle's class was the first to enter, down the red carpet and into the newly floored cafeteria-gymnasium for an assembly led by Principal Kevin Lacoste and Superintendent Michael Wood, who each said a few words about this important milestone for the school and the Town of Stow.

After the assembly, there were a few "Where do we go?" questions as students high-fived PC Penguin. But any concerns were masked by ear-to-ear grins on all the students. The reports are that they have had a pretty happy few days.

Lip Sync '12 Images

Lip Sync '12 was another year of performance fun for kids and adults alike. We had two shows, Grades K-2 and Grades 3-5, with a total of 49 acts and 122 kids. We brought back the popular "mystery acts", this year featuring the teachers and administration as well as PC Penguin dancing to "I Like to Move It" with moving boxes as props. How fitting! Both shows ended with the grand finale "Cotton Eyed Joe" dance for all the performers.

The shows were coordinated and produced by Linda Harmon and Paul Trunfio, with emcees Jen Gero and Stephen O'Riorden. The SPTO would like to thank the many volunteers who stepped forward, including Nicole Hatlevig who "shadowed" the show this year and will be coordinating next year. Without all of the volunteers, these shows could not have happened.

All images were made by Amy-Jo Conant and can be purchased online with all proceeds donated to Stow PTO. Order deadline is extended to March 11, 2012. Please visit:
