Pompo/Center Biennial Auction
Now On the Blog: The Elementary School Auction That Roared (Posted: 04.11.2011)
Every other year, in the spring, the Stow PTO holds an auction of goods and services. This event is our principal fundraiser. Goods and services are donated by area businesses, private individuals, and families, and include sporting event tickets, summer day camps, vacation getaways, and birthday party specials--limited only by the donor's imagination. There are also classroom gifts created by our own elementary school students, as well as works created by the schools' teachers and staff.
Thanks to generous donations and auction buyers, our most recent A Roaring 20s Auction Gala from April 2011 raised over $45,000! For a contributed news article about this auction and an image slideshow from the event, see: The Elementary School Auction That Roared.
Where does the money go? All monies raised directly benefit Stow's elementary schools. The money is used to provide arts and cultural programs as well as to purchase classroom enrichment materials throughout the school year for our kindergarten through fifth grade students.
We would like to thank all area businesses for their generous donations, families for their contributions to the auction and then taking part in the auction, the auction committee for their tireless effort and commitment, the classroom project volunteers, and the teachers and staff at Pompo and Center. Everyone comes together to make this work.
