26th Annual Lip Sync
This year's Lip Sync will take place Saturday, March 1st in the Center School Cafetorium. (Though we will come up with a much better name to call it than Cafetorium - what about "Lip Sync Extravaganza Venue" or "The Studio 54 of Stow MA Without the Strobe Lights and Mean Bouncers?")
Lip Sync is a non-competitive performance open to students. Students choose a song and work up a routine--often with friends--then perform on stage while "lip-syncing" and dancing to the music of their chosen song. It is a lot of fun and has become a tradition for Stow children.
Lip Sync offers everyone a chance to be on stage and perform either individually or in a group and to make memories that will last a lifetime!
Here's the deets: There will be two shows that day - one for grades PreK through 2nd and one for grades 3rd through 5th. Each performance will be limited to 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Preschoolers will be limited to 1 minute and 30 seconds (probably the most adorable 1 minute and 30 seconds any of us will see this year.) Acts will be responsible for editing their songs to the appropriate length and emailing them in a digital file (preferably mp3.) Song choices will be first signed-up, first served. If your song has been taken, you will need to choose a different song. Song lyrics and dance moves must be elementary school appropriate. If you question whether your song choice is appropriate or not, be safe and choose the kid version or edit out what might be inappropriate. Song files must be in by February 10th.
